Product description
The hot air steriliser Emmi-steri 15 is made out of stainless steel and is resistant against heat and
corrosion. It is completely isolated by fibreglass in order to avoid an overheating of the outside
surfaces. The sterilisation chamber is hermetically sealed by the cover due to a temperature
resistant silicon sealing. Emmi-steri 15 has an insert and an insert basket made out of aluminium,
both with a hole pattern in order to assure a good and sufficient air circulation. The equipment has
a stainless steel encoated calorifier, which has a high efficiency factor and a low inertia.

Functional description
The operation of the equipment can be set to a certain time - max. two hours - or to
permanent operation. The power switch is red and lights during operation.
Additionally the equipment has a green control light which is alight during normal operation, and
an orange control light which lights if heating is switched on and a red control light which will light
in case temperature exceeds the max. limit and the safety circuit takes control over the
temperature.


The wished temperature is adjusted with the temperature regulator. The equipment has
an automatic temperature control which includes a self - adjusting capillary tube thermostat which
has an auto-adjustment up to + 200°C. However, in case the temperature will nevertheless be
exceeded a second safety control will be activated, a bi-metal switch, which then will take over the
temperature control. If the bi-metal switch is activated the red alarm light in front of the equipment
will go alight. In this case the service shall be contacted.


Conventional use
The equipment may only be used for the purpose as set forth in the catalogue and in
the technical descriptions which means for the sterilisation of instruments and tools, and only in
conjunction with external devices and components which are recommended or approved by EMAG
AG. Any other use of the equipment is considered to be non conventional.
The equipment may only be operated by persons who are familiar with the operation of the
equipment. When the equipment is operated attention must be paid to persons
in the surroundings of the equipment.
In case of non conventional use EMAG AG will not be liable for possible damages and will not
warrant for the correct and functionally work of the components.
Part of the conventional use is also the observance of all information given in the operating
manual. To this attention is drawn by the sign on the type plate.
The correct and safe operation of the equipment implies appropriate transportation, storage,
installation and assembly as well as careful handling and maintenance.
The recurring inspections against BGV A3 are to be watched. The equipment must be installed in
such a way that the power supply connector is always accessible.


Non conventional use
In case of non conventional use of the equipment danger for life and limb as well as danger for
property may occur. Therefore a non conventional use is prohibited.
In case of non conventional use EMAG AG will not be liable for possible damages and will not
warrant for the correct and functionally work of the components.
In order to avoid non conventional use of the hot air sterilizer the following directions are to be
considered:
* The equipment may only be operated with the voltage printed on the type plate
on the backside of the housing (shockproof socket).
* The equipment must not be used for cleaning of contact lenses.
* Before any kind of handling of the equipment (i.e. transport, movement etc.) it must be
assured that the power supply is disconnected and that the equipment chamber
is at room temperature.
* No flammable or aggressive chemicals (i.e. acids etc.) must be used for cleaning.
* The equipment must only be operated in environments in which no explosive
gases can occur.
* The equipment must only be operated indoor, in dry environment.
* In case of transportation damage, don `t connect the equipment with main source.
* The equipment must be protected against humidity and wetness - no water must be filled
into the interior, or must intrude into the equipment.



Operation
If the equipment - after unpacking - is transported it must be assured that that the equipment is
carried in horizontal position and is hold below the bottom.
Before connecting the equipment with the main source it must be checked that the voltage of the
main source is the same than the one stated on the type label of the equipment
(230V~ / 50 Hz). The equipment must only be installed on even areas in order to allow air to
circulate below the equipment. Attention must also be paid that the back side of the equipment is
at least 10 cm away from the wall or other obstacles in order to allow an adequate air
circulation. The power supply cable is to be connected with the equipment and thereafter with the
main source. Switch power supply switch to I (ON) and check whether the green control light is
on.
N ote: If the equipment is switched on the first time a light smell of heated ceramic
fibre may occur which may last for a short time. This is normal! Switch the time
switch clockwise to the wished time, max. 120 minutes.
Adjust the temperature regulator to the wished temperature and check whether
the orange control light is on.
N ote: The orange light may jitter a little bit until the adjusted temperature is reached.
I f the equipment is switched on at room temperature it will take approx. 30 minutes
until the adjusted temperature is reached. The recommended operating temperature
is +150°C to +180°C.
Shall the equipment operate for more than 120 minutes the time regulator is to be adjusted anti
clockwise to the position ∞ .
In order to get a correct sterilisation the insert must not be overloaded. The load must allow a
good circulation of the hot air. When the adjusted temperature is achieved the sterilisation time
shall be between 30 and 120 minutes, depending on legal requirements and / or specifications of
the manufacturers of the items to be sterilised.
The max. possible temperature should not be maintained for a too long time to avoid a damage
of the items to be sterilised. Note: The light up of the red light (alarm) means that the temperature
exceeds +220°C and that the safety thermostat has been activated. In this case the equipment
shall be switched off and the service shall be informed.
When the adjusted sterilisation time is elapsed the equipment stops automatically.



Cleaning
It is recommended to clean the equipment only by using a soft cloth and pure water.
Never use acids or solvents! It is essential that the power is disconnected before cleaning!

Warranty
Warranty period for this product is 24 months - from date of purchase.
Defects occurring during the warranty period due to material or production failures will be
corrected free of charge, either by repair or by replacement. In accordance with the applicable
laws other compensation entitlements are excluded.
Warranty will be void in cases of opened products, physical damage, misuse, modif ication, repair
by unauthorised persons, carelessness and using the product for other purpose than its intended
use.
In any warranty case repair or replacement will not lead to an extension of the warranty period.
In case of unjustif ied complaints, i.e. due to wrong installation or wrong operation we reserve the
right to charge the costs occurring to us.
For demands of warranty it is necessary to keep the purchase receipt showing the purchase date.
